Crumbling Old Stone Stairs

These stairs are at our local zoo. They are over 50 years old. I remember loving them as a child, in my eyes. they were unique. I often imagined the man or men that laid the stones so carefully & then used sparkling sand to seal off the top with slabs that reflected the sunlight. Apparently, the stairs are the property of the city & its up to the city to fix them. Otherwise, the zoo would have had them (& others) repaired. These lead down from the top parking lot. They still hold fascination for me. While I stood there painting,  I found out that many of the people that frequent the zoo, love these stairs & hope that the city will repair them. They were pleased that I was painting them in case they are not repaired.
