Woodpecker Haven

While I was painting this dead tree, I was lucky enough to have a Pileated Woodpecker land & sit there long enough to paint him. He sat there looking this way & that. Its rare to see one just sitting.

This is a wonderful place to find woodpeckers. I spent the day listening to crickets & bees with the occasional rat-a-tat-tat of various species of woodpeckers.
