Waiting for the Mailman

All summer, as I went past this house, there was one cat on the mailbox post and the 2nd was in the tire planter.

They made me think that they were patiently waiting for the mailman. They would be at their post mid- afternoon. I never saw them in the morning or evening.

I always wanted to see the mailman's reaction when he pulled up to deliver the mail. Would the cat get up to greet him? Does he carry cat treats around with him? Will the cat allow him to put the mail in the box? Or does the cat leave before the mailman gets there? Will the second cat come over to see the mailman? I'll never know.
